Community Day
Saturday, November 13th, 2010
Please join us for the last Society meeting before the summer break with a special
presentation by former Board Member Clark Thomas.
Mr. Thomas is working on a book about his wife's family. Joanne Thomas (Piñon Maiden)
is a descendant of the legendary Corydon Eliphalet Cooley, and his White Mountain
Apache wife, Molly. Cooley was the winner of the now-famous card game that won him
the ranch, and later, was used to name the town of Show Low, Arizona. The main street
in Show Low is still called Deuce of Clubs Avenue. Thomas will be assisted in his
presentation by his wife's cousin, Lonnie Amos, of Show Low.
The public is invited to attend.
